Just wanted to correct a couple inaccuracies in this article:
1. In Humbolt, PG&E does not have a "functioning pilot project". They have a preliminary permit and are in the process of applying for a pilot project.
2. In Santa Barbara, PG&E has submitted an application for a preliminary permit for the Central Coast WaveConnect project, not for a pilot project.
This distinction may seem minor, but it is not. A preliminary permit allows the company to study the area and gives them first rights to apply for a pilot project or a commercial project within three years time. If PG&E decides to move forward, they will have to submit a separate application for a pilot project or commercial project.
