Still not getting my point? If land is considered sacred and the community, state, and taxpayers want to keep it such, it shouldn't be up for sale. What's so confusing about that?

I can pretty much guarantee if we allowed open or concealed carry in this county, there is a much less liklihood this would happen to any woman (or man or child).

Ken and DrDan - if this is a sensitive area or has some history that the state and the people of the state deem necessary to protect, then it shouldn't be up for sale. It should be kept as some sort of public park or recreation area for the public to have ownership in. It shouldn't be allowed to be sold. Now, since the property was sold to private development, the state shouldn't have a say in what they can or cannot do on the property. How would you like it if you buy your house for $1million and you can't do anything to your backyard because the community has decided it needs to be preserved? That's your bought it, you pay taxes on it. Where is the individual right and individual freedom in this state in today's world for heaven's sake?

Why are our lawmakers even wasting time telling us how to raise our children, what they can and cannot put into their mouths, how much exercise they should be getting or ANYTHING else?! These are people, not animals. They have rights, as do their parents!!

As a teenager, I was frequently sent to various parts of the world on my own to experience life, see cultures, and be forced to survive and adapt. Best life lesson I've ever had because now I can sip cocktails in fancy restaurants, hail a cab on a busy city street, know when to give someone that "look" that means leave me the heck alone, or I can get around town in a city who doesn't speak my language. I also learned not everyone lives as comfortable as we do and it's a rarity to live the way this town does. Travelling is the best experience we can give our children.

Nobody knows what really happened up there except the people involved. Yes, a 40 lb dog isn't considered big by most, but any dog showing aggression while not on a leash and out on a public trail is not something I'd waste time to see if it would attack me or not. Doesn't sound like the hunters did anything wrong here. Hunters always get a bad rap because you have your good ones that don't make the news and you have your bad ones that are all over the news.

Here's what I think: huge amounts of money they're paying to the small business owners in town. So economy trumps your "enviornmental devestation"...sorry.

Idea! What if we stopped the government from telling us what we can and cannot put into our bodies and give people the freedom of their own body? Hmm there's an idea! These "criminals" aren't criminals. War on drugs is not, has not, and will never work.

How about we teach our children to go out in the world and experience life and actually LIVE instead of watching everything on tv? Oh, that's too risky and you read the stories of children being kidnapped so it's better to lock your kids up and only let them play within 10 feet from you? Hmm and we wonder why our children are so disconnected these days....
