The whole "war on drugs" and the ideology that drugs and anyone who does them, sells them, makes them, or any combination, is a horrible person who should be locked away is just plain ridiculous. Whether using weed for fun or for medicinal purposes, the point is the government shouldn't be telling the people what they can and cannot put into their body. Simple really.

On Convicted Felon Found with Stolen Guns Faces Four Years

The US is in approx. 200 countries out of the just under 300 that exist. We're going to be like Rome...got so big and powerful and eventually couldn't keep up with the pricetag of defending those conquered areas. We will eventually collapse.

I don't like when news anchors put their personal taste into their reports. In case they haven't noticed, reporting on something has nothing to do with your personal opinion.

On On Guns and Safety

DrDan - You bring again bring up the US vs UK on guns thinking they're so much safer because they don't have guns across the pond. Reality check: 12,664 homocides in the US and only 8,583 were caused by firearms and of those, 660 were justifiable homicides. Britain has a lower gun homocide rate BUT the US has the highest gun ownership in the world, yet is number 28 in gun homicide in the world. The UK has the 2nd highest overall crime rate in the EU and is the most violent country in the EU. So tell me again how the UK has done such a better job than the US? Oh that's right, they haven't. People carry knives there and anyone who has a gun knows they can do whatever they want because nobody can properly defend themselves. (all these numbers can be found on infowars.com)
Either way, this article should be considered null beecause it doesn't properly address the issue of a tyrannical government. In the great words of Ben Franklin, "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither safety nor liberty".

childrenofthenight - Old Mission, Cabrillo Beachway, Harbor, etc...yes, those are traditional SB areas but they're all for tourists who want to take pictures and buy trinkets. We really don't have anymore small time local shops and it's sad. Everything in town, I can buy online these days. I remember going into small, local shops as a teenager and knew you would see the same people working there, meet the owners and became friends with them. Now you go into a store and it's like every other town...always different faces, nobody to remember you, people walking around like zombies.

Sad to see this store go even though I've only been in a few times and that was years ago. I think the change is kids/teens aren't into hobbies anymore. Their "hobbies" consist of TV, movies and video games. I was a teen not too long ago and I was always outside or building something and would always have a hobby from this type of shop kept aside for those rainy days. But now we're a cookie cutter town and kids are home playing video games all day.

BeachGirl...so so true!! Everytime I get stuck on KEYT because nothing else is on, she's a different size and can hardly ever read correctly. She's so annoying, I get caught staring at her caked on makeup rather than what she's attempting to say. I personally don't care what size she is, but woman, learn to report properly!
I'm just sick of KEYT in general. Last ones on scene, no real news coverage, them just yabbing on and on about stupid topics. I've heard better local coverage from KTLA and CNN for heaven's sake. It's like they're afraid of reporting on actual news for fear it might wake people up.
