Oh, good, Carbajal thinks this is a mountain out of a molehill. We all know he claimed the crown that lets him dictate what is "reasonable". The South Coast never will have what is in the best interest of the North County,

In a split, these "experts" would run their county into collapse before the decade is out. I want the split to prevent them from taking us down with them. Go chase your Progressive Dream, I want no part of it.

The world is turning on your eco-philosophy - and Santa Barbara is proud to stand in the way of the future:

On Considering a County Split

BTW, this whole "Liz Taylor" thing with Gandrud is borderline slanderous as well. There was no such event, the documentary was very fact-to-life, and was Joe again being the classically-defined douche he seems oddly proud to put on display these days.

This "Joe Show" is getting absolutely ridiculous. Joe's private failings aside, his behavior in light of his latest incident proves something that REAL conservatives have seen in Joe for a long time - first and foremost, Joe comes first and foremost. He will sell out any of his principles for political gain. He's sold out the taxpayers and businesses in pursuit of that gain. He thrives on being that precious swing vote on the council, and on more than one occasion has taken stands so abhorrently UNconservative as to make one wonder how anyone would consider him any sort of small-government guy. Joe has burned alot of people who've helped him over the years for that seat he sits in. I hope the voters keep that in mind when his seat comes up again.

The pig comment, beyond its clear insult, is ironic considering it's the Sheriff begging the voters for more pork.

The government class are spending addicts that always claim that they will right their way if they can just get one more hit. Not this time - cold turkey sucks, but its time to get results before we open our wallets once again. Fund public safety FIRST from the general budget, kill the pork, and if we still have funding issues, we'll talk taxes then.

On Judges Support New Jail Tax

When did compassion mean hooking my generation with your debt? You plan on helping me pay it off? If my generation can still afford to write history books, we will look back with shame that our parents and grandparents sold us into economic slavery, thanks to your unwillingness to act responsibly.

Thanks a bunch.

On Middle Class Too Big to Fail

The attack on Greg's life choice is a red-herring and an base and offensive attempt to play the bigot card. How dare the author! It says more about the bigotry of the author than it does about we Republicans. Readers should ask why the author thought discussions about Gandrud's sexuality was necessary in a piece covering opposition to the jail-tax?

We Republicans stand with Greg on this issue. He has been a dedicated servant to his community. He speaks to a sentiment opinion that is present in the majority of the county - and the country at large.

It is one thing to walk around wearing the badge of a Republican - it is another thing to practice what we preach. It's gut check time - and we are drawing a line in the sand. NO MORE TAXES - CUT THE BUDGET - PROMOTE GROWTH. Of course the Supervisors favor Measure S - it further delays the results of their terrible economic planning by pushing it on to their constituents once again.

Once we the people vote this down, we will start changing out the Board with responsbile supervisors, and handle the budget the right way.
