Alright!
It's about time the County of Santa Barbara, CUT that budget down!
I always saw Santa Barbara County as the Homeless Capital of the Nation.
Thank you County Board!
Now all those dirty, mentally ill people from the Washington DC Metro Area will leave and show up in Santa Barbara County.
Living on the streets, urinating in the doorways of local business's and demanding FREE money from those tourists that the City relys on.
I'm going out today and start posting signs in the area with a map showing where to go and how easy it is to presure such a bleeding heart County into giving away the peoples tax money to placate a problem.
Again! Thank you, Santa Barbara County Health Board, thank you.......

Again, for years, the County Fire Department and the State and Federal Forest Service has been suggesting that property owners of large parcels of land, "Clear dead or dying brush away from their property, turn over the soil to reduce the chance that if a fire was started above the Canyon, then the fuel would be depletated by their home".
Well, again the fire came and it had plenty of fuel to keep the fire burning. Remember; "Only You can Prevent Forest Fires".

Thank you, Santa Barbara County, State of California and all neighboring State Fire Departments and "Hot-Shot's" that saved my HOMETOWN.
You took from the fire-bugs that lit the GAP fire and ran away to watch the flames from a safe distance and take gleefulness and merriment from the destruction.
I thank you for arriving where I could not (Living on the East Coast) and fighting the fire to its end. I have a retirment destination now and it was your doing to make that happen.

Well, Well. I guess I know where to move to when I finally give-up on being a productive member of society.
With FREE housing in an Expensive City, I can move back as soon as those homes are built.
I will follow the stream of dope-heads, illiterate, illegals, drunks and all other made-to-be-homeless people just like in the Eighties and early Nineties when we had East Coast people coming to Santa Barbara, Ca. to live off of the Heart renching, hand-ringing, bleeding heart librals who provided free money and shelter to who ever stumbled into the City.
Every since I moved to the East Coast, I have viewed Santa Barbara, as my Retiring destination.
I can have a beautiful plac to live, shelter, food, any female with dementional illussions to couple with and recieve three pay-checks (SSI, Disablity and Dependency).
Dependency: is where the State was alotting a check per month to those (99%) who were dependent on a drug of choice (Dope, Booze or Other) to attend counseling for said dependency but NO one ever did or will. The only counseling done is to buy more drugs from the local Latino gangs and Booze from the liquor store on lower State and Haley Street.
Thank you, Bleeding hearts, your providing me with a future retirement home, cost free.

Flying in general is for the RICH only. Remember, pretty soon only the RICH can afford to by GAS for their SUV's and LIMO's.

Santa Barbara Independent, I applaude your speedy and accurate reporting of the GAP Fire. I live in Northern Virginia but was raised in Goleta for over 20 years and was there when the Painted Cave fire had hit in the 90's. I heard CNN report a brief 2 second snipit of the fire in Santa Barbara and I automatically went to your website for the facts.
Santa Barbara News Press, was more in concerned with getting more money through a subscription, than with reporting the fire. Keyt, provided the same as CNN did, a little bit of 2-3 seconds of soundbite. Later, KEYT was offering what the LA stations were reporting and that was poor at best.
I keep up on what happens in my HOME town and the GAP fire was in my backyard (lived in the La Patera area not more than two (2) blocks away from Cathedral Oaks Rd.). I am proud of the Independent for its professional reporting and will continue to use this site to stay informed of my HOME town.
Thank you.

Well! It's about time the Queens came out and started giving this town a "Three-Snaps" of a good time. Here in DC, we lost our Drag circuit when Baseball came crashing into town with their Stadium (Which is loosing money hand over fist) and trashed all the brightest and splashiest venues. Now the girls work the streets and NY instead of lip-syncing Janet Jackson to the "closeted" congressmen. You Go Girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey People! Didn't you recieve your "Kick-Back" check? I know the EPA recieved theirs and a cut of the profits made by allowing the County to use their facility. Oh! by the way, "Big Oil" says, "Let's all just get a' long". Ha-Ha-Haaaaa!!!!!!!

To Roth or NOT. I have an IRA (Traditional) and most of my fellow co-workers are against the idea of "saving for a rainy day". Maybe it is the idea of NOT living for the moment, not buying as many toys as possible so that when you die, YOU WIN!!!! I look at it, as just maybe, I might live longer than the Government expects me to and if so, can I actually live on Government subsidies, food and public housing? I might but wouldn't be great if I didn't have to......
I guess, that even though I am one of those "First-time X'ers", I still have a Boomer's mentality.

Just like a Politician in DC, anything can happen when the right hands are greased by the wealthy.
Seems like business as usual, in a Republican State. Money given unto those who make the rules, alters or bends the rules.
Seek out and find the surge in wallet size of those who approved of the house to be built.
