Anyone with any knowledge of how religious orders work knows that third vow is 'obedience.' Brothers and nuns don't get to air their grievances against the order in public, and they don't always get to stay in their favorite places. It's part of the deal.
Also, anyone with any such knowledge and experience can see that the viability of that convent was pretty limited. One nun working full time in a salaried position in a catholic school, one retiree, and one housekeeper. It's a situation that begs for consolidation into another convent or mission.
The real-estate was clearly under-utilized, whatever the motivations for sale or re-deployment.
Move on, folks. Things change. There's a shortage of priests, brothers, and nuns. That means that these things, which have been happening since the 1970's, will continue to happen until a whole bunch of young people decide it would be cool to wear a habit and work for nothing.
