Want to know who is at fault? Blame the Boomers. They are the generation of Americans who sold out all future generations to assure their own padded lifestyle. They and they alone inherited the greatest economy and country in the history of the world, and they and they alone have stolen the future from others. Their self-serving greed. Their incessant need to acquire and spent. The ME generation has destroyed America.
They are the only generation to leave their children worse off than they, the Boomers assured their own padded lifestyle by stealing from future generations and their parents alike. Think about that for a minute. All of our ills have occurred in the last 35 years +/-. All under the control and watch of the Boomers.
The sustainability of the economy, the country and the community rests on our ability to take back from the boomers what they have stolen from us... watch out old hippies, were coming! :-0

This is avoiding the real issue. The fact that the harbor has become a tourist destination. Try and walk to your boat on a weekend past the deluge of tourists blocking the sidewalk, try and find a space closer than 300 yards on any day at noon as the restaurants fill up with eaters and the sidewalks blocked by tourists...
The city wants to deny the reality of the fact that this is a working harbor and instead find a way to pull more revenue from the deluge of folks who like to visit the harbor or Brophy's. As a boater, its a real tough thing to deal with when you're paying high slip fees, exorbitant transfer fees and have to put up with so much bureaucratic bull in order to enjoy what is a public harbor.
Perhaps the city should look at the real cause of the parking headache - the 4 restaurants and their hundreds of patrons and the conversion of the entire harbor into a tourists destination.

This case was settled not won... big difference. They settle because their insurance company says its cheaper to settle than to fight... but the reality is that this woman is 100% at fault.
I for one am sick to death of people like this plaintiff.

What a huge waste of money. What the heck are Fed dollars going to stuff like this? No wonder we're beyond broke. This kind of paranoid giveaways have bankrupted us while moving us closer and closer to a fascist police state.

sbdude - no, I want the name of this guy who shot and killed a small harmless dog which was doing what dogs do - bark and protecct their owners. There was no attack - it was the action of a scared, weak and obviously stupid man and the community needs to know who this is for their own safety. His license needs to be revoked and his name plastered on posters on every trail with warnings.
I hunt and own guns. I would never hike out on a popular trail with a loaded firearm let alone shoot a dog unless he was actually attacking me or my family. You on the other hand are the epitome of a stupid gun owner and the main reason most people label us wrongly. Get a life buddy since you obviously cant get a brain maybe you can get a clue...

As long as the ignorant religious fueled moral police play any part in policy, we'll be at the mercy of their naivete and ignorance. These people are no more inclined to offer opinions than any one of the homeless bums who hang out on State St. yet they seem to wield an untold amount of power. These ignoramuses are equally as moronic in both their chosen faith and their insistence of inserting themselves into the public policy debate but whats worse is how our politicians chose to listen to their babble over the voices of their constituency.
