Lee, I'm right there with you. One thing I've done for the past two years is purchase close relatives (Mother, sister, husband) gift certificates to their favorite place ON-LINE in November- voila!

Socio/psychopath....all very charming. Watch out girl, I had a friend who was "charmed" by beautifully written letters of a prisoner - don't be fooled.....take heed......they're ALL charming and he's trying to reel you in.

What could happen if he's in for life? How about you trying to help him escape? And you will never succeed and YOU will be in prison.

He was texting his daughter "Happy New Year", while waiting for the light to turn green. Beutel is rogue and that will come out.

Really sad to see this store close. As a property manager I have relied on them to help with obscure electrical problems.

Commenter above, ramoncramon, had an easy fix by purchasing "on-line", but if you had questions that you wanted answered RIGHT NOW, or an electrical problem that you couldn't figure out - they were there....always. Great staff....

On End of an Era for a 30 Year Old Santa Barbara Business

My motto: refuse, refuse, refuse. Then reduce, reuse and recycle - in that order.

This year I gave gift cards to family/friends and I REFUSED all the wasteful packaging the clerks offered to go with the gift cards

I learned the Japanese "furoshiki", consequently I wrapped the gift card in a beautiful scarf instead - bought scarves at thrift stores specifically for this reason.

I refuse any paper stuff offered at all stores.

I hung my jewelry on our small potted tree that we brought inside.

Recycling is NOT my goal - my goal is not having anything to recycle.

Difficult, but doable.

V Smith - there you go again......what do democrats have to do with this story?

Spending the rest of your life in jail, as opposed to being put out of your misery by lethal injection, is a far worse sentence.

And V Smith, I'm not a democrat......just sayin'

Oh, so he yells and punches people and he's got a temper and he's famous? He's a lousy human being. Gardening is backbreaking work. Congratulations Mr. Gonzales for beating this guy at his own game!

MAXIMUM - in 2002, Joe Wilson was a signature of a bill that gave money to hospitals that provided health care for ILLEGALS. It comes up for a vote again this year.

I just saw Johnnie at Verizon on Calle Laureles in March; he was joking then too....saying we had to keep up with technology or we'd be left behind.

Delightful man, wonderful person.
