Metropolitan Theatres mogul Bruce Corwin will distribute a list
of 10 ways to help reduce global warming to theater patrons
attending Al Gore’s environmental jeremiad, An Inconvenient Truth,
which opens at Paseo Nuevo this week. In addition, Corwin has sent
letters to other movie theater owners throughout the country asking
them to do the same. Corwin praised the Gore film for depicting the
dangers of global warming, but said he wanted to highlight actions
people can actually take to reduce their contribution to the
greenhouse effect. The list includes such simple suggestions as
checking one’s car air pressure or using compact fluorescent light
bulbs instead of standard bulbs. “Yes, they’re modest things,”
Corwin said. “But if everybody does just one of these modest
things, maybe that’s enough to save Greenland.”
