The Teamsters claimed yet another victory in their ongoing
conflict with News-Press owner Wendy McCaw. This one
involved Teamster claims that the News-Press took away
former columnist Starshine Roshell’s column in retaliation for her
evident pro-union sympathies. According to the union, the National
Labor Relations Board (NLRB) agreed that the News-Press
action against Roshell – now a columnist for The
Independent
 – was in fact retaliatory and should be prosecuted
as such. Meanwhile, McCaw has filed another complaint against the
union, claiming that Teamster supporters and organizers have
vandalized News-Press newsracks and stolen newspapers. The
NLRB has yet to validate any of McCaw’s allegations.
