S.B. Reads Island

The Santa Barbara Educators’ Roundtable has selected Island of
the Blue Dolphins as its first family-oriented Santa Barbara Reads
title to highlight in March and April. The S.B. Symphony will also
present a composition based on the story. The book is based on the
life of Karana, the lone woman of San Nicolas Island who survived
alone for years after being abandoned by her tribe. Visit
