The tourism industry is jumping on the green bandwagon with a promotional campaign highlighting “the greener side of Santa Barbara.” A website (>) jointly sponsored by the Santa Barbara Conference and Visitors Bureau and Film Commission, along with Santa Barbara-based Simple Shoes features self-guided tours that take in biodynamically grown wines, nature preserves, and environmentally sensitive architecture, among other attractions. It also offers tips on how to eat locally grown food, “like a locavore.” Simple Shoes, a division of Santa Barbara-based Decker Corporation, features footwear made of sustainable materials.
