Museum of Art Presents Second Nights Event of the Season

As part of the Santa Barbara Museum of Art’s ongoing summer events series, the June 21 “Nights” gala will be a celebration Egyptian art, highlighting Egypt’s Dynastic Period. Taking place from 5:30 to 8 p.m., the event will feature live music, activities, appetizers from Epiphany Restaurant, specialty martinis sponsored by Absolut vodka, wine from Summerland Winery and beer from Karl Strauss Brewery. The activities include Peek-a-Boo Pyramids, an ancient Egyptian tarot tent, a “This is Your Afterlife” studio and a feature called Dynasty: Cleopatra Meets the Carringtons. Live music by String Theory’s Sonic Journey will also be featured.

Tickets cost $15 for museum members and $25 for non-members and can be obtained by calling 884-6414, or by visiting the museum at 1130 State Street. The museum will feature a Nights celebration on the third Thursday of every month, thru September. The next event will be held on July 19 and will be titled Made in Santa Barbara: Contemporary Photography.
