State Law Requires Grocers Provide Recycling for Plastic Bags

Collection bins should be popping up at all supermarkets and chain drug stores throughout California as they start to comply with the new state law mandating that they implement recycling programs for plastic grocery bags. According to Peter Larkin of the California Grocers Association, most of their members already recycle green waste from the produce department, as well as the plastic film and corrugated cardboard used for shipping.
