Progressive political group MoveOn.org will hold its second annual Virtual Town Hall meeting at 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 7. Those in attendance will watch YouTube videos posted by MoveOn members of the presidential candidates discussing global climate change and possible ways to deal with it. Organizers promote the even as an opportunity to compare candidates’ views and make knowledgeable decisions regarding the looming election.

After the videos, attendees will watch a live broadcast of a series of Live Earth concerts sponsored by former Vice President Al Gore. Starting July 8, members will be given an opportunity to vote on their favorite candidate. The results of the vote will be released July 11.

The first Virtual Town Hall was held in April and addressed the issues in Iraq. This fall the third meeting will tackle the subject of healthcare.

There will be eight meetings held locally at various houses throughout the community. Visit MoveOn.org for specific addresses. Space is limited.
