Police Continue Campaign Against Homeless Loitering

Santa Barbara City police are in the midst of an enforcement campaign against homeless people loitering by the Cabrillo softball field, Dwight Murphy field, and East Beach. Between 6/ 7 and 7/15, police have issued 355 citations and sent 51 people to jail. Of the citations, 220 were for open container, 38 for outstanding warrants, and 31 for being drunk in public.
