For kids looking to stay fit, have fun, or become the next Hilary Duff, Santa Barbara offers a slew of music-related activities, programs, and events geared toward tykes.

• Every Thursday, the Village Riviera Retirement Home invites kids and teens to come visit and harmonize with residents during its free multigenerational classes, held at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. Together, old and young relate and rejoice through songs and games that are geared to unite the ages. Call 966-9078.

• Starting in September, Hip Hop Kidz brings its unique and kid-friendly dance program to the Spectrum Athletic Club (3908 State Street). Already a hit DVD series, Hip Hop Kidz will now offer classes for children 5-12 years old. Spectrum will play host to a free Open House/Masterclass on Sunday, August 26, at 2 p.m.
