On 11/14, Donald Kevin Romanik, 50-recently released from prison-allegedly robbed the Bank of America branch at 834 State Street. A dye booby trap in the cash bag exploded as he ran. Police spokesperson Lt. Paul McCaffrey said that an officer followed the dye trail moments later and saw Romanik as he ran from the Santa Barbara Bank & Trust branch with another dye-spewing bag. Romanik was arrested without incident.
