SB faces Increased Gang Violence, Tougher Enforcement

Since the gang related murder of 14-year old Angel Linares on State Street last March, city police state gang violence has resulted in one additional murder, 25 serious assaults, eight robberies, numerous acts of vandalism, and witness intimidation. Police say they’ve re-introduced the neighborhood bike patrol, which has resulted in 30 felony arrests, 61 misdemeanor arrests, 329 citations and hundreds of contacts with known or suspected gang members.
