After first being informed of allegedly suspicious conduct on Dec. 4, Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Deputies today arrested a volunteer working at the Boy Scouts Troop 36 Christmas tree lot, which is located at 5875 Calle Real in Goleta. According to a statement from Sheriff’s spokesperson Sgt. Alex Tipolt, a minor and boy scout told his parents that the 28-year-old man arrested had behaved inappropriately with him at the tree lot. This accusation resulted in the Sheriff obtaining a warrant to search the man’s residence. The man was subsequently arrested on charges of lewd and lascivious conduct with a minor. He is being held in $100,000 bail.

Tipolt’s statement disclosed no further details about the incident. Anybody with information is encouraged to contact the Sheriff at 681-4150.
