Samarkand Discrimination Victims Eligible for Compensation

As the 12/26 deadline approaches, no claims have yet been filed against Chicago-based Covenant Retirement Communities, whose facilities include Samarkand of Santa Barbara. A federal court ruled in August that the communities discriminated against people with disabilities by barring those using walkers or other mobility devices from some common areas, and denying housing to some who used power wheelchairs. Discrimination victims or their spouses are eligible for compensation.
