Rock the Vote

Next Monday, January 21, is the last day to register to vote in California’s primary election, which takes place February 5. In order to register to vote, you must be a citizen of the U.S., a resident of California, at least 18 years old as of the day of the next election, not be in prison or on parole for a felony, and not be deemed by an appropriate court to be mentally incompetent. To register to vote, you must obtain and complete a voter registration form. Forms can be obtained by: calling your local county elections official and requesting a form (568-2200; 800-SBC-VOTE); filling out a voter registration card online (a pre-typed registration form will then be mailed to you); calling the toll-free voter registration hotline at (800) 345-VOTE and requesting a form; or downloading a voter registration form ( and mailing it in to the county elections official (PO Box 159, Santa Barbara, CA 93102-0159).
