Sorority Smashing Protected By Free Speech

In response to written requests from 10 UCSB sorority presidents that the school’s campus paper, the Daily Nexus, not print any stories about the allegedly inflammatory gossip Web site JuicyCampus.com, the Nexus printed a front-page story on the matter on 2/4, including quotes from sorority members who claim the site allows people to anonymously and publicy defame students of note. Campus legal experts have reportedly deemed that the site’s content is protected by free speech laws.
