Allegiant Air to Begin Direct-to-Vegas Flights

The Las Vegas-based Allegiant Air announced on March 11 that it will begin three weekly non-stop flights directly from Santa Barbara to Las Vegas. Starting May 22, residents wanting a quick trip to Sin City can now catch one-way flights on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 8 p.m. Passengers who book before April 5 for flights departing before September 1 can do so at an introductory rate of $39. Fares will regularly be $49. Allegiant will be offering the only full-size jet service from here to Las Vegas. (U.S. Air still flies regular 70-seat direct flights between the two locations.)

“We are pleased to bring the Allegiant brand of low-fare, nonstop jet service to the Santa Barbara community,” said Allegiant Air President Maurice Gallagher in a a written statement.
