An as-of-yet unidentified man died at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital early this week when his family decided to remove him from life support. The man suffered from undisclosed injuries after he was sunk to the bottom of a pool at a Westside apartment complex late around 3:53 a.m. on June 22. The deceased was attending a friends’ Solstice after-party, where he reportedly became extremely intoxicated. Revelers had attempted to send the man home in a taxi cab, but he returned and attempted to re-enter the party. The man eventually joined a second group of people who were skinny-dipping in the apartment complex’s pool. The nude swimmers lost track of the deceased, but found him ten minutes later at the bottom of the opposite end of the pool. After pulling the man from the pool, one of the swimmers began performing CPR until emergency response arrived. He was partially revived but remained unconscious. After being transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, the man’s family decided removed him from life support.

After the apartment complex’s management viewed security tapes of the events that took place at the pool, they served eviction notices to all residents who partook in those activities.

As of June 25, Santa Barara police have yet to give any information to the Independent about what exactly caused the man to become unconscious in the first place or what his name was.
