Westmont Professor Speaks Before EU Panel in Brussels
Susan Penksa a Specialist in International and European Security Matters
Westmont political science professor Susan E. Penksa spoke at the European Parliament in Brussels yesterday, addressing the Subcommittee on Security and Defense about European Union (EU) security operations in the Balkans. During her talk, part of the scholar’s two-week-long visit with EU officials that began on Wednesday, Penksa also covered the subject of security relations between the U.S. and the EU.

Tomorrow, Penksa, who specializes in international and European security in her teachings as a professor and has far-reaching experience consulting with international organizations, will be participating in the Council of the European Union’s seminar on security sector reform. Next Wednesday, September 17, she is scheduled to speak at the Green Conference on the revised European Security Strategy, the press release said.
Penksa’s EU trip is being hosted by Minister of the European Parliament Angelika Beer of Germany.
