Speaking of Stories takes you back to the magic of bedtime stories with a performance of classic fairy tales brought to life. Artistic Director Maggie Mixsell and longtime S.B. theater legend George Backman have collaborated on this entertaining journey for all ages. Backman will be joined onstage by a stellar cast including Christina Allison, Emma-Jane Huerta, and John Knox-Johnston. The evening will include stories by Hans Christian Andersen, Roald Dahl, Carol Ann Duffy, Rose Fyleman, Rudyard Kipling, Edward Lear, and A.A. Milne. The intimate setting of Center Stage Theater (751 Paseo Nuevo) creates the perfect atmosphere for a nostalgic journey back to bedtime stories, complete with cookies and milk at intermission. These stories truly are intended for all ages and will remind you how classics like Snow White and Cinderella really began. Performances are Friday, October 3, and Saturday, October 4, at 7:30 p.m., as well as a special 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday, creating a perfect afternoon outing with your favorite young story fan! Tickets are $10-$18. Call 963-0408 or visit centerstagetheater.org for more info.
