Long speculated to throw her hat in the ring, Susan Jordan made it official this week that she will seek election in 2010 for Santa Barbara’s State Assembly seat currently occupied by her husband, the termed-out Pedro Nava. Famous for being a champion of the environment, Jordan is the executive director California Coastal Protection Network – the organization that famously helped sink plans for an LNG terminal in the Santa Barbara Channel last year – and the cofounder of the Vote the Coast group. Nava, meanwhile, is rumored to be considering a 2010 run at the State Attorney General position.
