Watch out Lazy Acres, Lassen’s, and Trader Joe’s: Whole Foods Market has made good on the longtime rumors that it will open a franchise in Santa Barbara. The nation’s top retailer of organic and natural foods and products has decided to plant a spot where Circuit City previously stood on State Street and Hitchcock Way. The Austin-based grocer has already opened locations throughout much of the country, including Los Angeles County, where the stores are famous for its wide variety of natural produce and celebrity shoppers.
Whole Foods is set to open in fall 2009. Representatives will be accepting applications and begin introducing the company to the community this summer.
