Goleta Valley Historical Society Hosts Concerts at the Ranch; Save Goleta Farmland Seeking Volunteers

Mon Jul 13, 2009 | 06:00am

• On Tuesday, July 21, the Goleta Valley Historical Society will host Concerts at the Ranch, a free summer evening concert held at Rancho La Patera and Stow House (304 N. Los Carneros Rd., Goleta) to raise badly needed funds for the organization’s numerous programs, historical preservation efforts, and educational programs. The concert begins at 5:30 p.m.; wine and beer will be available for purchase. Call 681-7218 for more info.

• The Save Goleta Farmland organization is seeking volunteers to help circulate a petition to preserve farmlands in our neighbor city to the north. The petition-which is addressed to members of the S.B. County Board of Supervisors, Goleta City Council, and other groups-asks governmental representatives to preserve and protect the ag zoning restrictions of existing agricultural land throughout the area. Volunteers would only be needed one to two hours per week, and can work for short time periods. Call 201-2461 for more info.
