For individuals and families experiencing the trauma of a life-threatening illness or grieving loved ones who have passed on, Hospice of Santa Barbara volunteers provide invaluable support and care-for free. A nonprofit, Hospice of S.B. relies on community donations to sustain itself. While money contributions are always welcome, the following are just some of the items that also are needed:

  • Stuffed animals
  • Old laptop computers
  • Restaurant vouchers
  • Disposable cameras for teen support group
  • Books about grief
  • Easy-Lift passes
  • Digital voice recorders for Life Reminiscence Program
  • Lavender eye pillows and neck pillows
  • Handmade quilts
  • Meditation and guided-imagery CDs
  • Dinner for volunteer training nights (20-30 people)
  • School supplies and school clothes (September)
  • Christmas gifts for adults and kids (December)
