Summerland is throwing a huge party, and everyone is invited. The first-ever Celebrate Summerland is a day-long fte taking place Saturday, October 10, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., that includes live music, lots of food, wine, and other edible and inedible treats. Walk along main drag Lillie Avenue, where businesses will be offering specials such as tarot card reading at Sacred Spaces, mini-facials and makeovers (Bellezza Vita spa), an all-day barbecue (Cantwell’s), wine tasting (Summerland Winery Boutique), and much more. There are also kid-friendly activities aplenty, such as face painting, a balloon artist, a Scooby-Doo jumpy house, and a chance to get up-close and personal with a real fire truck. The fun fest culminates at 5 p.m. with a raffle. Tickets will be available at the U.S. post office, which is also where visitors can get information about participating venues. John “The Palm” Palminteri will be there, as well as 1st District Supervisor Salud Carbajal and Fire Chief Michael Mingee.
