The Santa Barbara Community Academy was distinguished last week as the only school in Santa Barbara County to receive a 2010 Title I Academic Achievement Award. The statewide award is given to Title I schools that have a more than 40 percent socioeconomically disadvantaged student population and, more importantly, who have achieved at least double the achievement standards set for them two years in a row.
