The Santa Barbara School District got some good news this week as two of its elementary schools were honored as California Distinguished Schools of 2010. Recognized for their exemplary performance on Academic Performance Index tests and their success at closing the achievement gap betwixt traditionally higher and lower performing students, Peabody Charter and the Santa Barbara Community Academy made the California Department of Education-sanctioned list along with 482 others schools in the state. All the schools will be honored in a special ceremony in Anaheim on 6/4.
