THE EMERALD INDY: It seems like The Independent is getting around the world these days quite a bit. This shot comes to us from Candace Schermerhorn, who’s seen here reading The Indy outside of Bunratty Castle in County Clare, Ireland, where the head programmer for the Santa Barbara International Film Festival recently spent some time with the fest’s head honcho Roger Durling. After they parted ways, Schermerhorn found herself grounded due to Iceland’s exploding volcano, so she spent her spare time “going nonstop to museums, walking everywhere, fitting in lots and lots!” Sounds like there’s at least one American tourist who didn’t mind an extended European vacation.
