Eastsider Gets 15 Years

Jesus Martinez, 20, the lead defendant of 29 Eastside gang members who were part of a federal indictment, was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison on 8/30. Martinez pleaded guilty to RICO Act conspiracy, committing a violent crime in aid of racketeering, discharging a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, as well as three drug charges. All 29 defendants named in the indictment have pleaded to either a state or federal crime, and eight are yet to be sentenced.
