West Beach Fest: Police Happy, Promoters Not

From the Police Department’s perspective, this year’s West Beach Music Festival was successful, with very few noise complaints and overall issues. Promoters Jeremy and Joshua Pemberton, however, are unsure whether they want to move forward with a 2011 installment as the restrictions imposed on the event this year by the city, they said, took a serious financial toll on their company, Twiin Productions Inc. Calling the two-day beach bash “very manageable,” police spokesperson Lt. Paul McCaffrey said there were only about a dozen noise complaints (compared to hundreds last year) and 12 arrests made as well as 17 citations issued.
