Denise D’Sant Angelo, already convicted of scamming nuns out of thousands of dollars meant to save their Santa Barbara home, won’t be headed to court this week on accusations of financial elder abuse after issues with scheduling and lack of potential jurors came to light. Authorities allege D’Sant Angelo, serving a two-year prison sentence for her previous conviction, took $19,000 to help an elderly couple keep their home after they fell behind in mortgage payments, but they still lost the home and never saw the money again. One of the alleged victims doesn’t think she’s a victim at all and considers herself a friend of D’Sant Angelo’s.
