Albertsons Carpinteria Store to Host Bagless Kick-Off Event March 28

Demonstrating its role as an industry leader in environmental sustainability, ALBERTSONS, part of SUPERVALU’s nationwide family of grocery stores, is announcing that its Carpinteria, CA store is going “bagless.” As of April 27, 2011, the store will no longer offer paper or plastic bags at the check-out lanes as a way to carry groceries. Instead, customers will be encouraged to use environmentally friendly reusable bags.

To rally support for this important initiative, the ALBERTSONS Carpinteria store team is hosting a kick-off event set for Monday, March 28, 10 a.m., at the 1018 Casitas Pass Road store. Carpinteria residents will learn more about how this permanent program will work and what they can do to participate. ALBERTSONS Carpinteria Store Director Ahmed Jahadhmy will also announce the launch of the Bag for a Bench School Contest and the Take a Bag/Leave a Bag Program.
