A suspected drunk driver traveling westbound on Highway 154 in heavy rain caused a head-on collision at around 10 p.m. on 3/19. CHP officers took Juan Manuel Rodriguez-Zepeda, 29, into custody after he was treated for moderate injuries at Cottage Hospital. Rodriguez-Zepeda’s Lincoln Town Car smashed into a Honda Element carrying three passengers. One was recently released from the hospital and another is still recuperating. The last, Danny Ordas, succumbed to his injuries—a compound fracture of his leg and a broken neck—this week. According to a CHP spokesperson, Rodriguez-Zepeda was driving with an iguana on his lap at the time of the accident that survived the ordeal.
