Supreme Court Justice Speaks At Graduation

New Chief Justice of the California Supreme Court Tani Cantil-Sakauye came to Santa Barbara’s Granada Theatre this week as the commencement speaker for the silver jubilee anniversary of the Southern California Institute of Law. She praised the 18 men and women receiving their law degrees for their discipline and sacrifice, “often working full-time jobs, raising families, then making time for law school several evenings a week, year after year.” Noting the ethnic, racial, and gender diversity of graduating law class, the Chief Justice affirmed the importance of “equal justice under the law.”
