The Jet to Land at Martial Arts Family Fitness

“It is an absolute pleasure to have a martial artist of Benny the Jet’s caliber at our school and visiting Santa Barbara,” said Master Melodee Meyer, co-owner of Martial Arts Family Fitness. “The Jet’s commitment to excellence, which has been demonstrated throughout his career as a professional karate champion, is an inspiration to martial artists and non-martial artists alike.”

Benny Urquidez, known as “The Jet” to the martial arts world, retired from full contact karate in 1989 with 62 wins, 57 of which came from knockouts, and zero losses. During his career he was sponsored by Elvis Presley and was a member of the Los Angeles All Stars, the Chuck Norris United States Karate Team. He has also appeared in several films throughout his career and is an accomplished teacher. He continues to work with martial art school owners and martial artists around the world.

“As a life-long martial artist it is a great honor to have Benny in our school,” added Master Dave Wheaton, chief instructor and co-owner of Martial Arts Family Fitness. “His achievements are legendary, and we know that our students will learn from his greatness. We have students from some of our affiliated schools around the country that are coming in to train with the Jet. Benny will discuss his training, as well as what has made him successful throughout his long career.”

“Typically we only offer these events to our students, and the Friday seminar will be available only to youth students of our school,” added Master Meyer. “The Saturday seminar will be made available to martial artists from our school as well as other schools in an effort to expose people to Benny the Jet’s training methods.
