Carp Considers Reviving Patrol Deputy Position

After cutting a detective, deputy, and community resource officer from its budget in June, the Carpinteria City Council will be revisiting the issue of public safety on 10/24. For a variety of reasons — the state budget and various adjustments and savings in the city — some cash has opened up that the city didn’t have two months ago. At least a couple city councilmembers, Kathleen Reddington and Joe Armendariz, are asking the council to consider plugging back in the patrol deputy position.
