Do you know which planets are “gas giants” and which are “terrestrial”? Do you know how many satellites Jupiter has? If not, here’s one way to find out. Every second Saturday of the month, the public is invited to take a peek at the wonders of our solar system via telescopes set up at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History (2559 Puesta del Sol Rd.). Hosted by the S.B. Astronomical Unit, this event lets folks get familiar with the heavens and have questions answered by experts. In addition to the telescope party, the museum’s Gladwin Planetarium will screen the show Wildest Weather in the Solar System. The next viewing takes place Saturday, March 10, 7:30-10 p.m.; planetarium show plays at 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $1 for kids and $2 for adults.
