Obama Proposes Change to Immigration Rule

President Barack Obama’s administration — which has seen more illegal immigrants deported during its time than any other administration — introduced a proposal that would make it easier for undocumented immigrants with immediate family members who are American citizens to obtain permanent citizenship. The rule — which is not changing the law, federal officials said — would reduce the amount of time families spend apart as the undocumented apply for residency.
