UCSB Police Chief Dustin Olson sent an email to members of the campus and Isla Vista communities on Saturday warning them of an armed robbery that occurred in I.V. Friday night.

According to Olson, Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to El Colegio Road at around 10 p.m. and spoke with two male victims who said they were walking home from Sabado Tarde when they were confronted by an armed man. He was described as a Hispanic male in his twenties, wearing a black beanie, blue rain jacket, dark shirt, and black baggy jeans.

The suspect reportedly pointed a gun at the victims and demanded they lay on the ground before he took their cell phones and wallets. The suspect then fled on foot in an unknown direction. Authorities have not identified the suspect but continue to investigate the incident.
