Latino Activists Celebrate May Day

About 60 Latino activists, mostly young, rallied in De la Guerra Plaza outside City Hall on Tuesday evening to celebrate May Day. For nearly three hours they listened to — and gave — speeches condemning the impoundment of vehicles owned by unlicensed drivers, ethnic profiling, the criminalization of teens, and the Secure Communities program of deporting immigrants charged with minor, as well as serious, offenses.
