The push for an ice rink in Goleta eclipsed the $4 million fundraising mark this week when attorney, parent, and Greater Santa Barbara Ice Skating Association board member Christina Djernaes kicked in $350,000 through her Kind World Foundation. Altogether, Djernaes, who grew up skating at The Ice Patch on the Mesa, has kicked in $600,000 to the Paradise in Ice campaign, which needs another $1 million to start building the project, located next to Girsh Park on Storke Road.
