Carpinteria High School Teacher Arrested on Campus

Accused of Inappropriately Touching Female Student

A teacher at Rincon High School in Carpinteria was arrested at the school Wednesday afternoon for alleged inappropriate conduct with a female student.

Michael Carey, 41, has been placed on paid administrative leave, according to authorities, stemming from an investigation into inappropriate touching of a female student. He was taken to Santa Barbara County Jail on $25,000 bail.

Authorities said that due to the nature of the investigation, they won’t be releasing any more information.
