Newly crowned 4th District Supervisor Peter Adam  —  with his family on hand to celebrate his first day on the board  —  was on the dais for only minutes before being caught off guard: He had to give a speech Tuesday morning after his swearing in. “It’s really daunting being up here,” the mustached and calm-spoken Adam said. “It’s a different view, a different perspective.” Adam, a long shot to unseat longtime incumbent Joni Gray, won’t have long to admire the view, as he and the rest of the board will be soon be wrestling with big-time issues, the largest perhaps being how to construct a new County Jail in North County.
